According to Norwegian media, Geere and Mir, together with their handlers Morten and Kristin, used their noses to find a 24-year old woman in Kathmandu who had been buried deep under rubble (4 floors down) for 5 days. The rest of the Norwegian team together with rescue workers from Israel and France were able to pull out the young woman alive and give her medical care.
Deployment update: According to the UN, the death toll from the April 25 earthquake now stands at 5,006 with an additional 10,194 people injured.
