SDF recruits high-drive shelter dogs from across the United States and gives them the opportunity to unleash their inner hero in our disaster search program. Many of these special dogs will become certified urban search and rescue canines paired with first responder handlers to help communities after disasters. Others will thrive in alternative careers or as cherished companions in an active pet home. No matter where they find fulfillment, we need your help to get them there!
You can be a hero to rescued dogs by supporting the Rachael Ray Rescue Brigade campaign to help us raise $600,000 by September 15.
The Rachael Ray Foundation™ has generously granted $300,000 to get us more than halfway to our goal.
Your donation to SDF will allow us to:
- Continue our outreach to over 200 shelters and rescues across the country to find, evaluate and transport more dogs to our National Training Center.
- Train our canine recruits to search for survivors and aid the work of rescue crews.
- Find them the alternate placement of their choice if it turns out disaster search isn’t for them.
- Care for these high-drive dogs throughout their lives. From providing daily essentials to funding medical treatments, SDF ensures all dogs in our family receive excellent care and never need to be rescued again.
Together, we can unleash the hero in rescued dogs and give them a place in our SDF family as the happy, fulfilled dogs they deserve to be!
Be their hero. Donate to the Search Dog Foundation today!
The Rachael Ray Foundation is one of our most generous supporters. The Foundation is funded by the proceeds from the sale of Rachael Ray™ Nutrish®. Through December 2023, more than $81 million dollars has been donated to animal charities and other organizations through The Rachael Ray Foundation and its predecessor entity.
We are thrilled that The Rachael Ray Rescue Brigade will shine a spotlight for the eighth consecutive year on this vital part of our mission and excited for the fund’s ability to directly impact the number of homeless dogs that will be given a lifetime of care as part of our SDF family.
