With 13 SDF-trained teams deployed for Hurricane Helene, 18 search teams were activated ahead of Hurricane Milton, joining hundreds of two- and four-legged rescuers answering the call ahead of the second major storm headed for the region in the last two weeks.

Hurricane Milton ramped up to a massive Category 5 and eventually made landfall as a Category 3 storm along the West Coast of Florida, causing tornadoes, storm surges and flooding.
Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by Helene and those now dealing with the aftermath of Milton, and send our thanks to the many rescuers, two- and four-legged alike, who helping those communities in need.
