SDF’s very own Katie Brennan was recently invited to speak with Kayla Fratt, host of the K9 Conservationists podcast, where they discuss, in-depth, one of the most important aspects of our work: sourcing canine recruits for our program. Katie, a certified dog behavior consultant and Canine Recruitment Outreach Manager for SDF, works directly with individuals, organizations, shelters, and rescues to evaluate dogs for their potential as canine recruits or career change candidates. In this two-part interview, she sheds light on our canine recruitment process, highlights the most important qualities we look for in potential recruits, and explains how shelters, rescues, and even our social media followers play a role in this instrumental process.
Both episodes of this two-part podcast interview are now available, so be sure to check them out to learn more! You can find them by clicking the links below, or searching ‘K9 Conservationists’ wherever you get your podcasts.
